About Me

Bethany Lawrence is a multifaceted dance and theatre artist specializing in costume design and construction. She recently graduated with a Bachelors of Arts at Hope College with a dual major in Communication and Dance Performance and Choreography. She is a recipient of the Distinguished Artist Award and DeLong Scholarship from Hope College.

 

At Hope College, Bethany worked as a Senior Costume Technician, where she constructed and altered costumes, conducted fittings, oversaw students, and assisted with organization within the shop. Recently, she worked as First Hand for Hope Repertory Theatre’s 53rd season and as a Dresser-Stitcher Apprentice for The Santa Fe Opera’s 2026 season. She is also a costume designer, with credits including Little Women, The Night Witches, Lead Sister, and Striketime Dance Company. Bethany received Meritorious Achievement Awards from ACTF Region 3 for her work on Little Women and The Night Witches.  

 

Bethany has worked as a dresser through Hope College for PARA.MAR Dance Company, Bridgeman | Packer Dance Company, and H2 Dance Company and for four productions at The Santa Fe Opera. Aside from her work in costuming, Bethany was heavily involved in the Dance Department at Hope College, where she performed as a member of H2 Dance Company. She has also had the pleasure of training and performing abroad in London and Paris.

 

Bethany is passionate about combining her interests in performance and production, which allows her to approach costuming with creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of movement on stage.
